Country Home Decorating

When choosing a theme or style for decorating your home, there are many to pick from. One of the most popular decorating themes today is country home decorating. Perhaps it is the most popular because it provides an inviting atmosphere and overall friendly feeling. Country home decorating, because of its cosy environment, is enjoyed by the people who live there as well as all those who visit.

As with any home decorating project, a homeowner must first decide where they want to use country home decorating. Some people choose to use this theme throughout their entire home while other decide to use country home decorating focusing on just one or two rooms, for example the kitchen and the living room. Because this style is meant for people who enjoy simplicity and the nature, some homeowners may decide to carry the country decorating theme through the entire living space.

Country home decorating combines colors which are clean and bright with country furniture and accessories. When choosing colors for country home decorating, light to medium shades of white, yellow, pink, green or brown are good choices. Colors should reflect a rustic feeling. To add to the painted walls, a homeowner or decorator may decide to use stencils with country character such as flowers or plants, fruits or vegetables. Wallpaper boarders are also often used in country home decorating. It is fine to use these additions but the rule of thumb is to make certain the patterns do not clash.

In keeping with a rustic and simple theme, country home decorating uses wood, natural wood. When deciding on a material for a country floor, natural wood is a nice choice. Of course using natural wood throughout a large area can be costly. If looking for a less-expensive way to give floors a country look, a light shade of carpet might be considered or laminate flooring. These options would also work well with the country home decorating theme. Other suggestions for country floors are flagstone or tile. Some homeowners, if they are really creative, decorate their floors with stencils and create patterns. Another great way to jazz up a space is to use area rugs. In keeping with the country home decorating theme, those with an authentic look create a warm and cozy feeling. Hooked, quilted and braided rugs make beautiful additions to a country floor.

In addition when choosing furniture to compliment country home decorating, light wood or wicker is suggested. Again, these materials reflect the beauty of nature. If a homeowner or decorator decides fabric would accent their furniture, such as cushions or slip covers, floral patterns or checkered fabrics add to the authentic look.

After all, accessorizing a room always adds to its beauty. When buying accessories to fit in with a country home decorating theme, it is good to keep in mind the type of atmosphere you are trying to create, a warm and inviting space. Simplicity goes a long way in country home decorating. It is recommended to never use too many decorations and choose accessories that family and friends will enjoy. Photos in simple wooden frames, plain mirrors, plants and fragrant candles dress up country home decorating. Window treatments should also be simple. Lace or shutters give a cozy country feel. Country home decorating can be interesting and fun. Perhaps the main detail to keep in mind is simplicity. Try not to over-decorate, remember too many patterns will clash. Too many decorations will eliminate the amount of space in a room. Country home decorating creates a relaxing and friendly environment, meant to be warm and cozy.

So that’s the information I have on that subject. I hope it was helpful and you were able to get something out of it.

Home Decorating

The art of decorating refers to the taking of a space, four walls and a roof. Decorating art also aims to make the room look better or fill the room with items and accessories. The purpose of decorating is to make the room more beautiful which can give your guest a good impression about its style and sophisticated look.

So this begs the question: since you are taking a space and doing things to make it look better than it actually is… is home decorating a form of lying?

In a crude sense all art is a lie. Every time we try to represent something which isn’t really there, we are creating an illusion. It is an act of deception, which is not necessarily antagonistic. Instead it is often meant to delight the senses with the intrinsic beauty that is called up by the successful application of this act.

If you say that decorating is a lie, then you should also count paintings, music, movies, and books all as mediums for liars. To some extent, this is a fair comparison. They are all dealing with alternate realities, things which do not exist, or which exist elsewhere, independent of the actual media being employed.

On the other hand however, the point of art is to create beauty. As such, isn’t art the truest thing possible? Beauty is something which touches all humans, regardless of location, culture, or upbringing. We may have differing opinions as to what specifically constitutes beauty, but we all understand its true nature deep within our conscious beings.

In this way, decorating is just a matter of taking concepts of beauty, a universal idea, and applying them to the world around us. This means it is not really a lie, but merely a revelation of the potential that exists within every space, every moment, every object in the world around us.

How Quality Backlinks for Unique Home Decor Can Ease Unemployment

Article by Unique Gifts And Decor

The latest unemployment numbers are disheartening. This is not a political article about who is to blame since economics is way too complicated for me. I suspect that there is plenty of blame to go around. Nor do I have any solutions except the one proposed below.

Last year my son started a retail website that sells unique home decor products and gifts. Needless to say it has been slow going. We can hang in there because overhead is low and we do not have any employees.

There is a lot to learn about marketing on the internet and we did not take the time to learn it first. For those who are not familiar with opening a store on the internet it is akin to opening it in a black hole. If you open a physical store with an actual address people can drive by it and see it or see signs that you put out. But with a couple of hundred million sites on the Internet how do you get known. No one is going to know what your web address is so they have to find you some other way. This is where Google (primarily, and secondarily Bing) come in. They help you find places on the Internet when you type phrases in. If you are looking for a bicycle you can type in “bicycle” and it will give you places to go. If you type in “red bicycle” it is all the better because Google will narrow down the sites that it lists.

That means that the trick is to get Google to notice that your site exists so that when someone types in a phrase that has something to do with your site you will show up. This is not easy. You have to do what is called SEO or Search Engine Optimization. This is a process to get Google to recognize you. There are hundreds of things that you can do, thousands of people who will try to sell you things that will assist you (but in most cases won’t) and in the end no one really knows what works because Google keeps its algorithms secret. But there are some pretty smart people out there who study Google and have figured out a few things.

One way to get Google to recognize you is to advertise with them. However, this is very expensive and is usually beyond the reach of small sites. Imagine competing against Target or Home Depot for advertising space. They will just outbid you.

Another way is to get enough people to like your site so that Google decides that you must be popular (sort of like high school) and it will show you. The main way that Google keeps track of how popular you are is by the number of “backlinks” that you have. A backlink is a link that another site makes to your site. The more backlinks that you have the more popular Google thinks you are except that it doesn’t work that way. It’s not the number of backlinks – it’s the quality. If you have 100 backlinks from sites that no one visits Google doesn’t give you any credit because it does not show that you are popular. But a backlink from CNN.com, or Fox.com or other popular sites is gold. Google figures that if these popular sites like you then you must be pretty good and your Google rank goes up.

There’s only one problem – how do you get a popular website to link to you. Popular websites don’t know that you exist anymore than Google does. It is improbable that a small website will ever get recognized by a popular website.

Here is where the unemployment rate comes in. Backlinks from a government or university website are considered good, high quality and authoritative links. If you can get a link from a.gov or a.edu site you are doing well. My proposal is that Whitehouse.gov, one of the most authoritative websites around, link to my son’s site. They can issue a press release that says if you want unique home decor go to uniquegiftsanddecor.com. Or they can bury it in some other statement. The result will be that the website will become more popular, it will sell more stuff and it will need to hire additional people to help out thus providing jobs. The beauty of this is that it doesn’t cost anything. Of course for this to work the White House can’t give a bunch of links to other retail websites or everything gets diluted. So this is a onetime chance for the White House to step up and do something to help with unemployment without having to spend any money. We will be waiting.
